Recent sales overview
Once again it's time to go over some recent sales of mine. Keep an eye out for these items.
Bronze cat statue
Paid: $5.00 Sold: $70.00 -Shipping.
Overview: I bought this cat because #1 it was brass / bronze and slightly abstract and #2 I knew I could find a cat lover that would enjoy it. The lesson to take away from this, put yourself in the buyers shoes whenever possible.
Herbert Herr black forest cuckoo clock
Paid: $12.00 Sold: $99.99 -Shipping.
Overview: I didn't eve know who Herbert Herr was until I found this clock, I knew cuckoo clocks can bring some big money, when I did research there were not too many clocks selling so I priced mine $30.00 higher than the highest clock that sold. Of course the day after I list this item it sell which means I priced it too low.
Syroco dove / pigeon wall plaques
Paid: $3.00 Sold: $50.00 -Shipping
Overview: They are Syroco and they are dover / pigeons so I knew they would sell pretty easy. They ended up selling in two days. I probably could have put them a little bit higher. Like I always say. If you find Syroco for cheap, pick it up.
Lucite grape bunches
Paid: $2.00 Sold: $39.99 -Shipping
Overview: Well this was my first test for these grape bunches. They sold the day after I listed them, which was interesting because the single bunches didn't seem to be selling that well. If I find any more of these I will be picking them up again.
Mid century owl salt and pepper shakers
Paid: $2.00 Sold:$12.49
Overview: So this isn't a huge profit, but I just want to point this out. There are owl lovers out there just like cat lovers. These sold within a few hours of me posting them. Vintage owls sell so keep your eyes out.
Gaming strategy guides
Paid: $.75 Sold: $10.00
Overview: So if you look at just this guide by itself its really not that big of a deal, but if you look at my completed listings you will notice that these guides are selling fairly consistently. They are easy to ship, and list so you can't really go wrong.

My first garage sale hunt of the year along with finds & sales
This weekend was a great weekend for my first hunt. It was nice and sunny, which if you are familiar with the pacific northwest then you know that's a pretty big deal. I ended up spending a total of $100.00 when it was all said and done. I also learned about a prime spot for metal detecting so I am going to have to go check that out eventually. Ok lets get on with the finds shall we?

| This is an interesting find. Its an art deco goose neck desk lamp. I am guessing its probably from the 40s. The base is cast iron so its fairly heavy. |

| Vintage cosmo clock made in the USA. Faux wood face with arcade like numbers, I am going to offer this one as a vintage gamer clock and use woody ( like the Atari) as one of the keywords. Should be an easy sale. |

| This is another interesting light fixture. This one is probably from the early 1900s judging the wiring and porcelain sockets. Its all brass with some sort of lacquer coating which is scrapped up. This would be great as is or someone could paint it. |

Well that's all for the finds as of right now. I have a bunch more, but I have been listing all day, and I have not had a chance to take pictures of the other stuff.

Dorothy Thorpe pitcher and bowl

Paid: $3.00 Sold: $60.00 I had these in a lot with a champagne glass and another pitcher as you will see in the link. I ended up breaking up the lot and selling the 2. Its probably better this way. They had been posted for awhile. If you find Dorothy Thorpe items cheap, do not hesitate to pick them up.

Its spring, and I am still selling winter coats. If you find a pea coat for under $20.00 I would recommend buying them as long as they are in good shape.

Corning percolator cord

Vintage corning percolator cords are not worth a ton but they do sell. You can't sell certain corning percolator bodies on eBay due to recalls so people piece together parts when they have the body.

These lamps are probably from the 70s judging from the cords. The color is what told me I would be able to sell these, it just stuck out at me.

Once again, short and sweet
I am going to quickly go over a few things that I have sold recently.
Key ID features: Decked out in chrome, non polarized plug, bright vibrant red and blue polishers.
I know nothing about shoe shiners, but I know they don't make em like these anymore. A quick lookup, and I saw they were selling around $20-40 with a lot of green. Listed for $59.99 and sold it for $49.99
Key Id features: Syroco wood, syroco sticker. Syroco is a great performer. You would be amazed at how much you can get for these pieces. I sold this pair for $35 just because I wanted space on my wall.
Key Id features: sc fi / gamer / anime / manga / fantasy books in large lots. Most people that read these kind of books have money. If you can buy them cheap, and in large quantities I recommend it, just make sure that they are selling.
I paid .99 cents each in this instance. Sold for $149.99
Key Id features: Chromed out lamp, Large flared shade, CONCRETE FILLED BOTTOM, bakelite lookng on off button. I paid $12.99, priced it at 199 and got the offer of $150.
Good story on this one, I spent a weekend at a friends beach house that had two of these on the wall. I found this at a goodwill 2 days later. Nothing in that beach house was cheap so I figured neither was that helm. $50.00 profit zing!
Key Id features: PENDLETON! Pendleton quality is amazing. If taken care of properly it can last a LONG time. Its 100% pure wool. This piece is newer, but it still sold. Vintage pieces sell better than new items. Eventually when I get some time I will write about how to tell the difference.
Key Id features: Umm this one is a little hard, its danish modern, just go to google images and type in danish modern. It will give you an idea of what to look for, once you figure it out you will easily be able to tell when something is danish modern. Also flatware is something that A LOT of thrift stores look over. Find a large lot of stainless steel flatware for $2.99, is it made in the USA? Well then you may be able to sell it for over $100.00.
This short and sweet post has turned out to be longer than expected, it must be the vodka tonics that I am drinking. If you find any spelling or grammar errors in this post you can attribute it to my drinks, and not the awesome schooling I received in the rural midwest. :)

A few recent sales
Well I finally finished my Final Evaluation Period at work. We passed with flying colors, which is to be expected. Its been a very long week, and I have not had much sleep.
I reached 2 big milestones in the past couple weeks!
I am now a SILVER powerseller!
Not too shabby for only being on ebay for 7 months, and doing it part time. :)
My next milestone I reached was a feedback score of 200, with 100% positive feedback.
Ok enough about that lets check out some of the things that I have sold recently
Recent sale #1
I have been selling a lot of Pendleton wool recently.
I didn't quite understand why Pendleton wool was selling for so much until I started finding pieces at the thrift stores. Whatever they do over at Pendleton, they do it very well. Pendleton lasts a LONG time if you take care of it properly.
Here are some of my sales:
Pendleton high grade western wear - These are my favorite. I don't wear western wear stuff, but the pearl snaps are pretty cool. Paid $4.99
Pendleton shadow wool loop collar flap shirt - So far these are the best sellers. These shirts are from the 70s, they have a loop by the collar, and the flaps on the pockets are buttonless. Paid $4.99
Another loop flap - As far as the loop flap shirts go I generally am willing to pay up to $14.00, but only if they are in excellent condition.
The big thing want to check for on these shirts are the obvious ones, rips, tears, stains, and smells but you also want to look for moth holes. The best way to do this is to raise the shirt towards a light and see if there are holes.
I have sold shirts with holes, but you need to make sure you describe the holes in your listing.
I like selling clothing because it's easy to ship. Oh and for all you sellers out there that want to cut down shipping prices for clothing, you should to get some of these poly bags, you won't regret it.

Vintage woolrich wool shirts and coats.
I sell the shirts for about $20-30 each, and the some of the coats can bring over $100.00
I usually pay about $5.00 for a shirt, and spend less than $20.00 per coat.
To the left are some examples of woolrich. You need to do some research to see what the vintage woorich labels look like.
Recent sale #3
My next sale that I am going to tell you about is one of my best performers, BUT I don't find them very often.
Dorothy Thorpe roly poly glasses
Most thrift stores do not know who Dorothy Thorpe is, or how much these glasses are worth.
I usually pay about .45 cents per glass for these bad boys, and as you can see this set sold within 3 days for $79.99.
Recent sale #4
Mid century modern teak wafer art
A couple months ago, I sold a set similar to these for $59.99.
These were cats, and being a cat person, I know cat people go gaga for cat stuff. I figured there must be at least one mid century modernist who liked cats, so I put $99.99 on the sale price. 3 days later it sold.
Well thats all for now, I am going to do some shopping tomorrow so hopefully I will find some goodies!
